We own a 85 with a 12A engine. The car has a Racebeat 4barrel with intake manifold and exhaust headers. The air pump was removed. It won't pass smog. Any little tricks to get it to pass the smog tests Tucson City requires??????

Hey I live in Tucson too!!! Ha ha, well you can do what im going to do once I get mine finished, and thats get it registered up in either in Yavapai or Coconino. My parents still live in Prescott, so thats where I get all my car's registered. No emisions required!!!!!

This sucks. Once I get the car up and legal, we'll have to hook up.

I have questions on emissions too... I have a 1980 RX-7 I am working on. I hate to put the thermal reactor back on to go for emissions, but what are my options?

I live in the Phoenix metro area, and emissions will be needed before this car can go back on the road. (A new engine too, but that is besides the point.)

I read through some of what is posted for AZ emissions, and the text says they may make you buy a cat... the car didn't come wth a cat.

Looking for others who have successfully waded through this problem, and what it takes to pass emissions.

When doing research I go all excited when it looked like AZ was going exempt all cars 25+ years old but that fell through. AZ chickened out when faced with the EPA.
