Be prepared.
If you dont even know that the 20B only came in the Cosmo, not the RX-7 then youve got a lot of research to do.Its a very complex engine and no English literature is availible for it,so be prepared to run a standalone ECU.
And prepare to spend 3-5K just for the engine.

Go read around first...trust me it will stop alot of the flaming that has been hapaning to you in this thread.

I'll tell you what I will get you started. A 20b swap into a first gen is more headache than it is worth...IMO. You are talking Custom rear mounts ect. The list goes on and on. Not to mention that you better be prepared to open up your wallet. If you really want to do a 20b swap get a second gen. If memory serves me correctly they sell engine engine mounts so that it becomes a drop in affair. Well as far as engine placement goes.

In a first gen stick with the 13bt.

Now go search...and may God help you in the future because you will probably need it...well you will at least need a helmet!

And by open your wallet, he means at least $10,000, probably closer to $20,000.

Well guess that is depends what you want. With my REW swap I am struggling to keep it under 10k. Man I should have just bought a 3rd gen!

Tell me about it. Part of me just wants to go with a 4.3L V6 and a 5 speed. More torque, horsepower, better mileage, basically the same weight, cheaper, easier to maintain, better parts availability...

Which is why my FC will have an LS1.

Thats the down south talk buddy. Buts its cool because im in college to help correct that!!!! But here is my 2 cents on the topic. I think you should get your car running stock that way every mod that you do you can compare it to the way it used to be. Know that car inside and out that way you can tell if what you just did made the car better or worse. Thats what I did. And I too hope someday to have a 20b in my car. Ima get there one step at a time. Right now im at the 12a step, but im close to the 13b step. You know what if you wanna say F all yall ima do the swap more power to you. I think this forum will help ya out most of the way too. Good luck in what ever choice you make. You will no longer get a flame from me.(unless you truly deserve it)

Matt
