Anyone know where to find door panels?

I am restoring my 83 GS and I need some replacement door panels, and maybe a dashtop. They were originally red, and I would like to keep it that way. I found 1aautomotive.com for the carpet replacement, but I want to match that new carpet to the door panels if they are faded a little bit. Anyone have any ideas? Most of the ones in the junkyards I have seen have been destroyed by light and water. I also need some plastic trim pieces. Thanks!

I have seen them pop up on EBAY.COM , might keep an eye every other day or so, check the newly listed items there, also check this sites classifieds, if yours arent torn up too bad, you could try dyeing them till u find some more...good luck

I'm trying to make my own (as soon as I find the time...sigh). I've heard other people have done the same. How hard can it be? I imagine the toughest thing is finding a covering that looks decent...

I will be swapping the red interior out of my 1985 for a black/grey one this summer (Hopefully)... You're welcome to whatever you'd like if you can get it, especially if you can help me find good grey/black parts.

Thanks for the help guys. The only years that will really work are 81 to 83 the 84-85 are slightly different in shape, and I have the manual windows. Yes, maroon is the color, not exactly red, but lots of mazda places are calling it "red". I also need some seats. anyone know where there are good ones around from an 81-83?

Read some back issues of Hot Rod, Rod and Custom, etc. Rodders are a great resource for fix-its. Every rodder under the sun has done a door panel at some time. Its not too hard to do. You can replace the clips with velcro, which is nice. You can replace the fiber board backing with plastic or marine plywood. Look up Rod Doors on the web. They do reproduction stuff. Bookstores have tons of auto upholstery books. I am slowly getting ready to convert mine to a Formica like stuff that looks like polished metal. Get creative!

my 83 door panles were in real sorry shape due to heat and sun. I restored them and they came out awesome. I was thinking of doing it as a business. as long as the framing on the door panels are ok, it can be restored.
