the video I think is a classic, but cannot find it, is of a firts gen in Austraila doing a burnout contest at a track. He revs it for about 3 minutes. The crowd goes wild! Then POP his engine gives up the ghost. smoke and spittin' a$$ are everywhere. By now the crowdis stand appluading and falling overthemselves in hysterics.

Richard, I have that vid. I think I've read that it is his flywheel going in pieces due to the constant 9000 rpm burnout

That 3 min burnout rules. The guys at work couldnt believe it held up to that.

 

I went a few times in 2003. Don't know the exact dates. I only have a few clips cause my mom took the video and they have dial-up and can't send much to me. I just got them a CD/RW drive for x-mas so maybe I can get them to write it on CD for me. And then I'll have a bunch.

Only time I ran in Savannah was down abercorn (sp) at 3:30am agains some guy with a civic that was missing the bumper on the back, and that was with my stock GXL and Sliping clutch, wish I would have had a Cam with me, was funny. they drove by yelling for me to get my POS Ford Probe of the road and then get beat by a long shot. get to the light, they ask me what I've got done to it, I say its a stock 1.3L with Sliping clutch, and that I never went higher than 3rd gear.

 

Cool, I did my drivers schools there last year. And did a Chin thrack day in May. That track is fun.

 

that vid was from the new zealand nats i couple of years back, i thort i read it was the cluch pressure plate not the flywheel
the same thing happned to a frends rx2 it looked bad the he was able to repair it easly ie new gearbox bonit and some panal damage
