Anyone have problems with Yaw timing on a GSL-SE
I've heard of many of you breaking spark plugs using his setting for 12a's but i wanted to know if the same happens on 13b's? If so, anyone know other good timing settings. I wanted to bump it up a little bit, along with doing the TB mod and maybe porting my intake tommrow.
Thanks

I know several GSL-SE owners that run Yaw's recommended timing with no problems. 26/16
Otherwise, unplug vacuum advance, bump up trailing 5*, and advance your stock timing a little (10-12*).
Stock timing:
L = 5*ATDC
T = 20*ATDC
mechanical advance = 10* for both
vacuum advance = 10* for L, 15* for T

Jimmy,
The reason some of us were breaking plugs is likely that our mixtures were not right... our cars were not tuned properly. 'This seems to be the case with a stock Nikki carb and a full header exhaust. Those timing settings are very aggressive, and you had better be sure your a/f is spot on to avoid problems. Also, a bunch of us run the colder platinum FC/FD trailing plugs all around (the 9's). This might help a bit.
Personally I don't like those timing settings; I like about 2 degrees advanced over stock on both leading and trailing, set at idle (vacuum advance is disabled on my car.) But everyone's car is different; to each his own.
