Well, doing a search would get my answer, but I'll retype it anyway.

Mariah does not fab these - they farm out the work. As witnessed by my sig, they do look good, however, mine took over 6 weeks to show up and when I got it, not only were there flowlines on the fiberglass, but there was also an inch gap between fender and airdam on the left side.

I'm sure if you got one of their entire kits it'd work better, but just know that you might wonder if you wasted your money. I scrape the bottom of mine on mildly sloped driveways here in Florida. Just an FYI.

Other than that, I really am happy with mine though

$242 after shipping. I got the SCCA legal airdam. They sell combination front bumper/airdam kits - those are the ones I was referring to. I called them, and as to the "sig too dark", it's a PC gamma thing or your monitor's contrast is too low I would've said that the Rx-7 logo in my sig was blocking it instead

self-installed - it's not too hard, but one of these days I may have it fiberglassed to the body...

Hey, you there! With the airdam!

Does that, or any other airdam actually do what their name implies? I thought to myself, "My, if I could get an airdam... perhaps it would produce downforce on the front end causing less lift at high speeds."

So just wanted to know if they do anything besides make the car look better.

You will definitely notice a difference at high speeds. I remember pre-airdam how I used to fly down the highway at high rates of speed and it felt like my car was actually going to lift.

The car stays down now. 120 (don't ask) is smooth and low-to-the-ground

I am going to have to get one of these!! They loof great! Is that airdam on the white REX also a Mariah product??

Also,

HEY 81REX6PORT:

How did you deal with the color of the airdam you ordered from Mariah?? Did you have to have it painted to match your car once you got it?

The bumpber on that picture does not belongs to mariahmotorsports, their front bumper eliminates the complete fron bumper and also eliminates the front side markers.

Here is a pic of the mariahmotorsports front bumper....

you can find it at http://www.mariahmotorsports.com

I think this is the same airdam. MMS is where I got it and I really do like the thing.

However....

It came with numerous surface irregularities AND was damaged in shipping. The box will say to "Inspect before signing". Don't let your body shop guy accept it without checking it out first. It cost me extra to get it fixed.

i have the original mazda motorsports airdam that was available as an accessory option when the FB's were new. they look similar to the ones on this thread but look at jerij's car and imagine it coming straight down instead of sloping inward as it does just below the moulding.
