Well, I already got one of the 14" setups, since I got a good deal at work. Somebody returned one, because it wouldn't fit their car, and the manager screwed up the returns, so told me I could just take it if I wanted it. $126 filter for free.......sure!

Anyways, I'm going to have to dig in there and see how it looks installed. I doubt there will be a noticeable difference....but we'll see.

I'll take pics tomorrow.

NickRx7 : I had the same idea ,but the flow when going to second stage was allways rough.

I had more success when i took it off,and put the stock airbox on.I think mine`s entry angle was a bit steep.

How do you find it ?

Stock, bad flow. The area in red is the low velocity, stgnant area. The blue is the flow path into the carb throat.

Carl, looks like it's time to infest in a nice digicam that takes vids with sound. My g/f bought a Canon that was only a couple of hundred dollars, you should check it out.

Yeah soon as I put it on made an instant difference, also no strain on the engine to get air.... Not to mention the pod filters are very good at keeping dirt out of the engine as where the filters for the stock airbox usually wear out pretty quickly.

all it needs is a 45 degree bend.

or better yet call twminduction.com and have them make you a big a$$ aluminum bellmouth velocity stack to fit over the carb air horn. Weld or fasten a lid to it with your 90* snout. Use a longer bolt for the centerbolt to hold the whole thing on.

Brad, no, your oversimplifying it, trust me. What it needs is a correct radius curve to keep the air flowing and in contact with the surface (laminar airflow) to minimize shearing/flow seperation and boundary layer growth with the associated turbulence that comes with it.

I dont see anything that big on their site. And I dont see any prices. Having a single piece mfg would break the bank. Thats why I developed my kit.

The bottom section of the airbox is curved in a way to draw the flow in along the lines of your pictures up there, Carl. The adaptor plate is also in that shape sitting on there.

Again, study my crappy pics. Thats not bad, better than stock, but not as good as a single correctly sized velocity stack. You could attach one of my velocity stacks directly to the filter base and have a really good flowing setup.
