Any reports on bolt pattern conversions?

I am about finished with my 2nd gen front suspension graft onto my '85 RX7.

I have an '83 disc rear and need to facilitate 5-lug 2nd gen wheels back there.

Moser - who has been in the rear end building, machining, and fabricating business at least since the sixties when I was pouring over Hot Rod magazine - will plug and redrill both axles and rotors for $130. UPS will cost another $50 or so.

Two providers of adapters that are included in an earlier thread quoted $200 - and reported that I must use 2" thick adapters for this application. This would put the outer edge of my rims approximately 3/4" farther out than the stock 1st gen wheels.

CPRacing advertises a set of 4 1" thick adapters for $325. These would put the outer edge of my rims approximately 1/4" in from the stock 1st gen rims. I like that.

However, I have emailed CPRacing twice and phoned once - and have received no reply. I asked for a price for 2 adapters.

What routes have those of you who converted to 5 lugs taken, what has your experience been, and would you go that route again?

Thanks in advance for your comments.
