On the Oil fill tube?
I used to just plug the 2 outlets,Im thinking on runnign a oil breather to help cool the engine

No, it won't affect compression, and it's a very good idea. I used a small breather filter on the oil filler tube. The other nipple is connected to the carbon canister. (Mine is in the air filter lid.) I have a tee in the line that is connected to the tank purge line. That's it. If you've been running it unvented, you may have some whitish oil/water emulsion in your filler tube. Be sure to clean that out. -WG

 

That emulsion will rust the inside of your filler tube in short order. I use a small K&N style breather filter as well. I have the intermediate housing nipple connected to the charcoal canister (1982 model) exactly as it was stock.

 

I'm tearing down a 4 port 13B with serious rust in the filler tube. The hose on the nipple was blocked so lots of condensation would always form under the oil filler cap.

Question, how many here have drilled a hole in the filler cap? Just a hole, no breather element/filter or anything. Just an open hole. crap can fall in, but it lets the steam out. If I do this, should I thread in a brass or plastic 90º elbow fitting?

i have rust down mine too can you replace that part? or safely clean it? anyone have a pic of what you're talking about with this filter thing? i think i might need to do this cause i am def. getting condensation. *sigh*

 

Im sure you can pull out the oil filler tube and get it blasted or just change it,Try to get one from a TII

My oil filler tube does have some slight rust,Nothing bad,I painted down in there to help the rust stop.

I used to run a stock oil cap with a 3/8?Hole drilled into it.(Hole smaller than a pencil)Untill I got my rotor cap,So now on the rebuild I want to run a oil breather filter.

I will run one and make soem maybe brass fittings coming off the filler tube for the filter to sit on,Maybe Ill get my freinds dad to weld me a L shaped metal tubing so the filter can mount up or maybe just straight out the side,

I took the charcole canistaer off So Ill just put a nipple back on the other outlet.

I think the intermediate plate is the air intake and oil tube is the air output. Or maybe it's the other way 'round. Hmm, on a stock setup like on my Cosmo, the intermediate one connects to a T fitting that also goes the the fuel tank breather and the intake manifold PCV valve. The oil filler tube goes to the charcoal canister inside the lid of the air filter canister. Or maybe it is reversed where the oil tube connects to the T fitting? I'll check on it a little later.

 

Yep, that's exactly how the stock setup was on my Seven.

From whatit looks like I should use the one on the plate for the breather?
