Question Any Ideas?

Hey All,

My 82 GSL just started to bog down and almost die when I hit about 100k/60 miles this week. I have checked the timing, air/fuel mixture and checked for vacuum leaks but everything checks out just fine. It seems to start happening after you have driven for about 30k and if you pull off the side of the road and wait a couple of minutes she is fine again. I have checked everything I can think of, it is driving me nuts.

Any ideas?

I think it sounds to be fuel related:
-Fuel filter replace
-pinched fuel line
-fuel pressure (test pump with pressure gauge)

This is where I would start.

It may be a pinched fuel line, never thought about that, but the fuel filter and fuel pump were replaced two months ago so it is unlikely to be that. I am going to go over the send and return lines for pinches.

Thanks for the ideas.

Also make sure that the fuel filter is installed in the correct direction, cause that will lower fuel pressure in some cases.

Was it a factory fuel pump unit?

Well, I checked the fuel lines and thier not pinched, fuel filter is clean, and lots of gas is being pumped.

The fuel pump is a factory pump.

I guess, I will leave this one alone for a while now and head off on holidays. It's a drag though I wanted to take the rex on holidays with me. Oh, well!
