Another rats nest removal question...sorry.

I have a 79 w/out the rats nest. How do I run my vacuum hoses from the oil fill tube to the intake manifold if my manifold doesn't have the fittings? Is there another way to prevent the sludge build-up?
Thanks,
~Jason

well you can tap your intake a put a fitting in, or I believe some people use a PCV valve? Maybe someone can elaborate more on that.... I actually have the same problem though.

I'm working on this problem right now and not sure what to do. There is a lot of info in the FAQs, but there is nothing conclusive. I'm putting a blower on, so I don't have all the vacuum sources available on the stock intake. I believe a PCV requires a vacuum source. I'll keep an eye oin this thread because I'm going to need to do something.

Yeah, post whatever you find out. Will this hurt anything to leave it like it is? I just have small filters on the oil fill tube nipples.

From what I've read this should be ok, but some people swear by using vacuum to help suck the fumes out. I don't know what's best. Some people leave them completely open. I plan on leaving one connected to the charcoal cannister but haven't decided what to do with the other one.

See, I don't even have a charcoal canister because I have the RB air cleaner. Anyway, as long as I keep my oil changed should I be okay?

I just ran a vacuum line from the nipple to the carb spacer and have no issues. If you don't have a vacant vacuum nipple on the spacer, just add a T fitting. I haven't had any sludge issues since I did this, so I believe it fixes the issue.
