IN Another orphaned 7 I picked up this week

1982 Rx-7 GSL automatic (yuck!). Has some air dam and side skirts I have no idea who made. Glass sunroof, kenwood radio and MB quart speakers. Will start and run above 1500. Will drive but almost no power. Compression readings 80-90's rear rotor. Front 50, then 20 something twice. Took the exhaust off, put my hands in the exhaust port, I can feel the apex seals. The feel smooth, and move in and out freely. Im gussing this car has stuck or bad corner seal. It tachs up way too smooth to be nothing but something simple. Looks like motor is coming out and apart. Car has 116,000 on the clock. Not a bad buy for $800. Been sitting in the garage on concrete blocks with NEW tires and paint job for 8 years...

Beleive it or not the fuel pump worked and the gas tank is clean... Carb needed rebuilt which I have done... Hopefully get the motor out next week and crack it open and see what we got.. Ive done gas, ATF soak, MMO and sea foam. A little better numbers but no where near where it needs to be. Any other ideas before I jerk the engine?

Im trying to bounce back and forth between the 83 I bought and this one... I think once I get the 83 all cleaned up and ready for a show or 2. I go at this one full force... Right now the motor is ready to pull, I just havent done it yet
