Another "new to the forum" thread!
Hey everyone, I've been reading the forums for a couple of months now and finally decided to post about my project! I've got a 1985 GSL-SE that needs a fair bit of work, hoping to get it drivable in the next few weeks. Its got some 200,000 miles on it, so this summer I'm going to try doing a rebuild.
Currently in the process of removing the clutter in the engine bay, and combatting some rust around the battery
. My grand ambition is to have it turbo'd with hydrogen boosting (pumping hydrogen into the airstream along with the gas). But first its got to be running!

Heh, thanks everyone for the concern, forgot to mention one of the biggest issues I had after picking it up. Somehow the previous owner blew the passenger side front brake rotor. And by blew, I mean that the rotor is sheered in half, no friggin' clue how he managed to do that. Well, of course he didn't know the difference between the GSL-SE and other first gens, and swapped the entire strut with something he found at the junkyard. I've recently swapped the strut back to stock, having to buy another rotor/hub assembly from Autozone
. I'll try to get some more pictures in a bit here.
Now the only problem I have is turning... the previous owner clipped the springs and went to the 17" rims in the picture, which means I can't turn more than half-way before rubbing, and fear for my life when I see a pothole
.
And that canister thing is indeed the car alarm horn, the whole setup was so ghetto rigged that I've had to pull it out entirely. The firewall's peppered with holes, and the wire gauges alternate between thick and thin at random
