Another "MINT" FB... yeah right...

whats is with people blatantly lying when selling 1stgen rx7's on ebay? It really pisses me off, because you know there is some kid out there that is dying to have a rx7 and hes going to end up blowing all his money on a car that looks perfect, until he gets it home... bastards.

I'll let the link do the rest of the explaining...

note the bumper

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't you have to change to the SA fenders to be able to mount the SA Bumper?? Front end repair from a crash maybe??

It's sellers like this that turned me away from eBay. I drove half a day towing a rented two dolly just to find the advertised 626 GT that was 'mechanically excellent condition, only thing bad cosmetically is faded paint on hood' actually was 'paint on hood, top, sunroof, hatch peeling and rusting' and that 'mechanically excellent' meant 'power steering doesn't work', not to mention the car had 15k more miles than was listed. Seller promised to refund deposit (200$), and never returned a phone call or e-mail again. Fortunately eBay refunded my 200$. - but it took long enough.
I found my 7 on this site's 'for sale' section.https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=155180
Thanks for taking great care of the car Bill!

the whole front clip has been changed, well... fenders and bumper at least, 'cause the SA bumpers don't fit on FB fenders...

well, to me, the car does not look too bad?? I think I am tough on people who say "mint" ....boy , some of you guys are real tough. I do agree the work "MINT" is over used...as is "excellent" ...I give a guy a little more room on excellent cause this car does looo excellent and it proably is for a 20 yr old car..I'll give'em that...but if he said MINT ...no...I don't think so...He , for 2900.00 , this car is proably a good deal ( with the limited info. I know on it). Looks like it has been re-done...but that is ok...these bumpers don;t look right for the year of this car....but, it still looks ok!! Hey, where can you get a nice little sports car like this for 2500.00 or so. Just my thoughts...and I do get "pissed" like the other guy when someone overrates the car...but that is life...the guy may think his car is "mint" , he just does not know what mint means.....cjf

I get pissed at people on eBay why lie about the vehicle they are selling. Duh, this is an auction and if you look at thr seller information/regulations- if you misrepresent a vehicle the buyer can deny the car and demand his deposit back! He should sell the car on its merits (it does look good) and not try to paint a picture of an original mint condition car.
-and when I bid on the 626 GT, I was looking for an RX7 with no sunroof (hard to find). Funny, now that I purchased an RX7, several have showed up on local car lots (not that I trust junk car lots).

are you kidding? i paid 1500 for mine, and i think i got ripped off because it did need some work. BUT, if it really was mint and had the right parts on it, and he gave some information about the car. 2500 would be an acceptable price. 3k would be pushing it.

But, maybe thats just me.

Its been wrecked with a SA frontend put on it, look at the rear that would take a shitload of work to get the newer tailights...

Heck, if someone wants to spend $3000, I've got a 85GSL, all original, 55k, almost showroom, with these problems:

-dull silver finish (waxes up pretty good)
-a tear and wear on drivers leather seat, all other interior cherry
-LF fender crease (I have the new fender ready)
-slipping clutch

I emailed the owner, Corrine Bly, and notified her that the front end has been changed. She responds:

"The Vin is a 1985 and since when are you a GU-RU of Mazda ? It is not a 79 front end."

sent my email posing as a normal buyer asking when it had been in its accident, where the trim pieces for the replaced fenders were, and saying that the 79 model year bumper and fenders looked kind of funny on an 85 to me.

Not to bad mouth any women on this board, but my experience with cars with BS ads on eBay are mainly 1st time women sellers. They don't 'understand' that you can't lie and insinuate that the vehicle is better than it really is like a car ad in a classified. SOmebody should e-mail here and explain how any winning bidder can default on buying the car because of the 'misrepresentations' in the auction description. ..and that it is technically called "fraud", and is a crime.

Okay, when this car first went on ebay for 3500 I noticed the badges were switched on the rear. Glad to know it's not just me. I'm trying to talk a coworker out of considering this damn car. I finally found the right car for me (and a steal, too) on ebay and now all my buddies want one too!
