Since you didn't specific which lens and housing you used, I have no choice but to assume it was a cheap Ebay one. Wouldn't the amount of cutoff have to do with the actual housing that reflects the light?

Here the center just looks like that, a regular flashlight. That would explain the flashlightedness of your headlights now.

So... I have a better idea:
Take the HID kit you bought
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-X...QQcmdZViewItem
Mate it with these lenses and housings
http://www.rocky-road.com/ipfH4.html

And it would produce this cutoff instead:

A spin off of both Directfreak and vx's ideas.

I am useing the cheapo ebay projector lens...

I could spend more money and probably get those results. Or I could modify the lens I have and possible get similar or better results. Seems other companys are just modifying the bulb it's self to get proper cut out.

Either way, I think I can modify what I have to work. Some people would rather spend the money, I'd rather think for myself and try fixing it for less money. Doesn't really matter it's just personal preference. I like to tinker.... Either way I'll post my results.

Playing with limo tint. 5%

Picked up some tint and tried out some different patterns over the lens. Unfortunatly the first one looks the best but didn't provide the best "cutout". To bad I Liked the looks of it the best. It improved the CO a little but not as well as the next one.

Mean Rx....

Also tried a few others the cutout was similar to above so I didn't bother posting images of them.

We had the Lazy RX...

Then I added a small circle over the projector lens, this just dimmed everything, and looked kinda stupid.

Goofy RX....

And finally this one seemed to work the best.

Sad RX....

Not bad when comparing it to the original...

And if the looks bother you U really can't see them unless U have the lights up and not on.

Anyway we'll see if I get any tickets now. I drove behind a friend and he said they were definatly bright, but didn't bother him...

you think those ebay HIDS's are going to be any better than the X51 Fatboy bulbs? they seem to be the bomb-diggity.
