another fuel gauge thread kinda
ok ok i searched about my fuel gauge not working and cleaned the contacts and plugged it back it and nothing...i get a reading from the sending unit but i also get a reading from the gauge.....is there anyway i can test the gauge??? like maybe with a resistor or wire or somthing? like as it jumping the 2 sending wires to make the gauge move? thx guys

Procedure for testing the sending unit is in the FSM, it does require removing the sender to test. As far as testing the gauge, I don't know if there is one or not. What I've found, if the gauge is in question, remove it and inspect the fine white wires wrapped around the bi-metal strip. If there is any discoloration, browning/blackening, of the wires, the gauge is toast.
if the wires look good, you're supposed to measure the resistance at the connector as you move the gauge through its full to empty cycle or vice versa. at the full mark the reistance is supposed to be 3 ohms +/- 2 and at the empty mark its supposed to be 110 ohms +/-7
