Unhappy Another carburetor question. Please give ur thoughts and advice.

Im getting ready to invest some money on my carburetor rebuild. Gas is only spitting out of 1 jet at time and bogs a lot now starving 4 gas. At 1 point gas came out the air bleed and no where else . I am aware that i am up 4 a rebuilt. I am going to bring it to the shop because of my inexperience. My thing is after the rebuild and everything that is needed to b replace and washed 4 the carb is done will my baby run back to normal and stop having gas comming out the air bleed. 1 more thing is a carb rebuilt a garentee fix.

Talk to RX-7Carl or Sterling on here about a rebuild before you do anything else!

Make sure you get a REALLY GOOD seal between the carb, and spacer plate. Otherwise you'll be chasing a ghost for months.

Sounds like alot of plugged up passages. Part of our rebuild is soaking the parts in a VERY strong carb cleaner and after rinsing, all the passages are blown out. While I couldnt gaurantee that your CAR will run right after we rebuild your carb, I CAN gaurantee that your CARB will be as good as new and run perfectly. If you have other problems with the car, then obviously the carb wont fix those. Compare what Sterling said to what your local mech will charge.

Damn! You will never be able to beat that price if you take it to any shop unless your Dad runs it. And, in that case, I'm sure he's absolutely ashamed you're not trying to rebuild it yourself. The norm is $250 when Rotary Performance did them 10 years ago to the current $350 for the DFW area shop that still will touch them off W I-20...outstanding value...Sterling, send him the old pic you made of an open rebuilt carb!

And if you pay the preice that the DFW area shop asks for a "regular" rebuild, Carl or Sterling will take that carb and turn it into the most amazing masterpiece of carbureted horsepower-making art I've ever seen!

And when I replace my fuel pump, I'll tell you how the uber-carbs perform

It's exactly what I was saying a few days ago.

"I fixed the tank, replaced the lines, replaced the filter and installed the carb. I've checked for vacuum leaks, checked for compression, replaced the spark plugs. I've got a new battery and terminals, and the plug wires and dist cap check out. I've got my K&N cleaned and oiled. I've replaced the entire brake system. Okay... I've got the carb in, there's nothing else wrong. It'll start now

*tries to start it*

well ****.. the fuel pump is dead. Dang"

What's wrong with you banana boy? You should say "your CARB will run better than new", not as good as new. You need somebody to handle your PR, other than you.

Anyways, I'm looking for a nikki I can buy for dirt cheap to send you for beauty care. You don't happen to have one laying around that you would like to sell for $20? I would send you $200 for it plus the rebuild service.

Yeah, what he said. I would like my carb rebuilt, but I don't have a second car to drive around nor anyone else to drive me around for who knows how long.

Too bad you're in IL or we could have worked out a "loaner" deal on the '84 which is just sitting around on my driveway doing a whole bunch of nothing...
