another blowthrough beast from the rotaryshack :)

this original bone stock GSL-SE drove into the shack for an extreme makeover and it got one! the faded paint, dirty stock wheels and very oily engine bay were transformed into what you see below. Mike(the owner) drove out with an s5 13BT freshened up with a streetported, and pinned for added strength motor that purrs like a kitten i threw in one of the shack hybrid turbos with a 60mm compressor wheel dialed in at a conservative 12 psi for reliability. i also employed one of the Rotaryshack weber blowthrough systems for fueling duties along with a bosch 044 fuel pump and a mallory 4309 FPR to keep the fuel pressure right where it needs to be at all times. Intercooling duties are handled by a spearco front mount with 2-1/2" intercooler piping.. A turbonetics godzilla blow off valve was used to prevent the turbo from backspooling between shifts. A strong ignition system was a top priority so 2 MSD 6AL units along with 2 blaster 2 coils were installed to insure the most complete burn. Next a set of MSD 8.8mm ignition wires, locked dizzy and a set of NGK R6725-105 were installed to finish off the ignition system.. A cooling system cannot be overlooked when building a boosted rotary so a heavy duty radiator was installed with an electric fan and a 160 degree thermostat. A set of steel braided oil cooler lines replaced the old cloth ones for added reliability..A racingbeat light steel flywheel (225mm) along with a racingbeat race pressure plate/ disk combo were bolted to the s5 automatic counterweight. this enabled the S5 motor to use the SE transmission Last but not least, for the exhaust system we installed a 3" downpipe with a magnaflow muffler as a presilencer, 3"piping to the rear of the vehicle into a Racingbeat universal muffler for the FD model. With this combonation the cops will never hassel ya! A fresh set of panasport wheels along with a set of Racing beat springs finished the rx7 with some style. After some tuning the car was off to the detail shop where the paint was brought back to life here is some pics, enjoy guys! any questions and comments are welcome

Absolutely gorgeous engine bay Robert. Great work. We all should strive for that level of attention to detail.

And the total cost for this treatment? My old girl could use something along these lines.

Super sleeper right there!

I got a question though.....what do your customers do about smog regs?
I realize that not all areas are smog controlled to the extent of major cities.....but this is CA and the repeal of the rolling 30 year rule and the constant advancement of CA based smog laws around the country scares me.Well not me personally, but when I think about all the work, sweat and money that goes into beautiful conversions like that,I cant help but wonder how they will be getting by,5-10 years from now......

most people bring thier cars to the shop to get the work done, so i would be happy to make a spot for ya when your ready
as far as liscense plates go, here in Los Angeles we have tons of red light cameras, the cops need your front plate along with your face to prosecute the ticket, so getting stopped for a no front plate ticket on a regular basis is common..
