alternator wiring
Hey all,
I'm replacing my 1st gen alt with an S5 and at the same time I'll be swapping out my fusible link with a 2nd gen fuse box and replacing the feed wire (white w/red stripe, alt to fusible link).
My questions is, The feed wire...does it go directly from the alt to the fusible link? Right now it goes into some electrical tape, down to a "Y" (in the loom), then reappears by the fusible link. I had seen in a previous post (about de-looming)some wires are spliced (1 wire into 2).
I just want to be sure if I'm completely replacing the white/red stripe from the alt to the fusible link, it doesn't split off somewhere in the loom before it gets to the fusible link.
Thanks

Yeah the white/red wire splits off to the IGN barrel somewhere between the alt and fusible link, on mine this was pretty close to the fusible link side.
