akk, yet another carb question, this time about Carb Inlet Screens.
akk, yet another carb question, this time about Carb Inlet Screens.
So, my Carb Inlet Screen (the screen that sits around the 2 inlet banjo bolts) have been blown to **** from probably rust flecks in my gunky gas. I hit up the local part stores and they said I had to go to mazda. I contacted mazda and they don't make them anymore and they aren't showing any stock in Canada.
The part can be seen on the maxdatrix in the Misc. Carb Parts section. As you can see, also no longer available.
Anybody know anywhere that has them? If all else fails there's an all Japanese garage in the city that I can call to see if they can hook me up with something on the other side of the big lake, but that could get pricey/take a while.

I do this too (just a small in-line filter). Even that probably isn't really needed if the main filter's working well and the metal fuel line that runs along the car isn't breaking down, but for the few seconds and couple bucks... why not?
If you're intent on getting the screen though, suppose you could check a used carb at a wrecker and hope it survived well over the years.

Outside of salvaging them from a spare carb, or figuring out how to fab your own (materials would be the hard part, they're just soldered together), that's about your only option.
Are your needle screens shot, too?
