Aire Care ( Emissions testing)
So I have been creeping these forums for at least a year and Finally snagged a nice 82 rx7, anyways it has a few mods but the owner isnt very knowledgable about the car ( its his brothers). For emissions testing here in BC canada there is an idle test (vapours) and a rolling dyno test. the car has full exhaust with a bolt in cat but it failed pretty bad. the motor is a mazda crate motor about 2 years old runs great but apparently the airpump is not connected to the cat? would this cause the car to fail emissions? Sorry for the long post !
I have 1 week of temp insurance before it needs to be through emissions so any info is appreciated!
Thanks
-Andrew

air pump gets hooked to the Air Control Valve, on the side of the intake, and then the air from the air pump goes to what mazda calls "Port Air" which is the exhaust port.
the car does have a pipe hooked to the cat, but it doesn't use it in the conditions encountered durning an emissions test.
the ACV, is commonly bad.
