ahhhhh! car won't start

I've got a '78 gt and for some reason it won't start, the starter motor just clicks.
I've just had the starter motor overhauled(new solenoid, ring gear and brushes),it's a new battery and there's power going from the ignition to the starter, so i'm now out of ideas
Can anyone think of anything i might have missed
Any help would be appreciated.

Check your ground points & connections.

Check the FAQ; there are number of step-by-step checks in there.

Good luck.

I've looked at the FAQ's and checked everything apart from the main power cable, there's 12v getting down there but i'll try replacing it with a jumper cable tomorrow and see if that does anything, plus am i right in thinking that the wire that goes to the right side copper post is for the hot start and the left side is the main power cable?

the hot start is not related to the starter, but rather it opens the carb slightly when starting. Check a wiring diagram to make sure you have the wires connected properly.

First start with a new cable from the battery to the starter. Slight chance the motor could be seized, have you tried turning it over by hand?

make sure it's wired correctly (it happened to me once) also make sure your battery posts and cables are clean.

Ok, an update on this problem.
The one thing i didn't check was the power going to the starter down the main cable, i've checked it today and it's a whopping 4v. I put a jumper cable onto the starter and the battery and yahoo it turns over. Problem solved.
Thanks for all your help guys.
