Okay, recently I've noticed this insane whine during accellerating in 1st gear. It only does it in first gear, as soon as you shift it's gone.

It's never happened until like 2 weeks ago when I first noticed it. And the thing is, the other gears whine, just not as loud as 1st. And it sounds more like it's coming from the engine, but why would the engine make a noise in only 1st gear?

I just had this transmission put in, and I think the warranty is up already!

Does anyone else have this whine, is it something my Rx-7 can live with? Should I just start saving up for a new transmission right now?

 

My Automatic started doing that today after I put more tranny fluid in... damn thing whines really loud at about 4k rpm...

Maybe it's your first to second synchro gear. Does it whine at all rpms?

 

Kinda. It's pretty much one continuous whine as i'm pushing on the gas. It does kinda get a LITTLE bit louder as the rpms rise, but not really noticable.
