when you took the fuel lines off did gas flow out of them? If not you may have a clogged line. (or no gas in the tank?) You should probably change the fuel filter while you're under there.

also there is a white looking check valve between the pump and line, make sure its not on backwards, if u took it off that is, if not dont worry, i would go with above post,,,clogged filter in gas tank could do it....good luck........

thanks for the replies, i think its a clogged line, no gas came out of the fuel lines when i removed the pump, the pump wasnt working anyways, stuck the new pump on a few different ways and still nothing, its full of gas, and the gas smells like paint thinner as well as the oil and brake fluid, and the gas is orange and weird. gonna take off the tank in a day or so and see whats up

your on the right track, my gas was bad and i drained it and pulled the tank off as well and cleaned it out,,,good luck, it will be fun to drive,,,,,and do have a spare fuel filter with u at all times, mine still collects crud from the tank and goes dead after a few hundred miles, so i replace the filter and off i go again, hope all the crud will eventually be washed out.........later......
