Aftermarket Vented Gas Cap?

Hey fellas,

I broke the nipple that connects to the Check & Cut Valve on my gas tank. I was wondering if I could just JB Weld the hole and use an aftermarket vented gas cap to release the air.

Thanks

Luis

I just came back from advanced auto parts and the said they don't carry them.

Do they even make a vented gas cap for such and old car?

I have seen aftermarket gas caps, but not sure if they are vented or not.

Well that sucks, i tried using JB Weld and PC-7 with no avail to stop a leak. They really don't work very well around a pressurized tank i guess. In my experience pull out the tank, bring it to a shop that repairs tanks and let them solder on a new nipple or use the existing one. I brought mine to Gas-Tank-Renu in MN, but they have like 50 state wide stores. There's no reason to throw in a new tank unless you can get it reasonable.

If you are looking for a Vented Gas Cap, Nappa sells them for $5.99US.
Part # 703-1034 (Balkamp)
I tried one for awhile thinking that was going to fix my Tank Venting Issue.
NOT
I narrowed down my problem was due to a clogged Charcoal Cannister.
Replaced it with a 2nd Gen one and bought a new Factory Gas Cap.
Walla all fixed.
