Aftermarket oilcooler.
My 79 has a fmoc. Coming home from work i got a hole in it. Its shot.My boss went and got me a universal mount cooler. Will this work or do i need to switch to a beehive? I already have the other hooked up, but havent drove it home. Will this cool my car?
Idk anything about why after market coolers dont work without modifying them. I think you need to somehow restrict how fast the oil goes through. I know on that stocker of urs, thers a removable oil pressure re stricter. If you can adapter that to the new one i think you would be fine. Btw does that new one have a fan on it? if it does that would benefit you more. Hope this helps and someone adds to this.
Second gen FMOC would work fine. You can't get much better than that. Also no flow restriction is needed, the stock oil cooler has a thermostat which is what you may be thinking about.

i dont have pics, but its Napa brand. its about 1 foot long almost a 1' thick. It mounts to radiator. my friend says its way smaller then fmoc but bigger then beehive but dosent have coolant going through it.
probably not big enough..i would not settle for anything less than an oem oil cooler, first or secong gen..post a want to buy ad in the first gen parts for sale/wanted section here on the forum. you may want to replace the oil cooler lines as well.
