ac question conv to 134

My 84s air wasnt workingwhen I bought it. The comp. is empty, Im going toput in 134.I bought the adaptor for the comp. The question is do i take out the valve stem in the comp, before screrwing on the adaptor since it has the schrader valve in it.???? Help

yes, remove the old valves "guts" first.

Not sure what the kit comes with, but I just got the fitting adaptors, and had my boss (gas station) use his vaccum machine thing to charge it. Its been 2 months and still blows cold.
