AC Compressor Leak

Hello everyone,
I decided that I want to get the AC working again on my SE. I noticed that there is a huge leak at the front of the compressor. The refrigerant actually blows out where the nut is on the clutch. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just a matter of tightening the nut, or will it require a rebuild?
Thanks!
Mike

Typically that's a sign that the front seal has failed. Once it dies the refrigerant and pag oil will seep out past the seal and soak the compressor clutch. You will want to evac the system and rebuild or replace the compressor.

Thanks man. It's a good thing I just bought an old, heavy duty, made in USA vacuum pump a few months ago. :-)
