about to start 5 lug swap, need help with what to do about rear and 3rd gen wheels

im going to be starting my 5 lug swap on my SA with -SE suspension as soon as i can figure out what i need to know.

first off, the rear, what to do? i know i could get the CP racing spacers for $80 a piece, but im not dealing with CP. i dont feel like waiting 6 months to start. i know i can get the rear hubs redrilled also. do i just need to take it to a wheel/machine shop and tell them to make wholes for 4x114? is there anyone else that makes the spacers? i think id rather get the hubs machined, but i need to look into it more.

also, i want to run 3rd gen wheels on my SA after i get it converted. i know that second gens need 1" spacers to get 3rd gen wheels to fit, so i assume i would need a 1" spacer as well. or would i need a bigger spacer? if i got the spacers for the rear then i would just take however thick the 4lug-5lug spacer is and add a spacer to it if it doesnt equal an inch, right?

the car is lowered with ST springs, but i plan on running Ground Control coilovers, unless i can some how figure out how to get true coil overs. i assume the fenders may have to be rolled and i may be running fender flares.

lany help is greatly appreciated.

thanks

I'm going to have my rear hubs re-drilled to the 5x114.3 pattern. The thing is the track in the rear will be more narrow than the front after the FC subframe swap. You could either throw spacers in there or take advantage of the situation and throw a wide rear tire on with a nice dish to get the outer edges to match up. I have not yet priced out the process of having them re-drilled but I know the place I am going to have do it can do it up exactly. They will be doing it on a cnc machine which makes the process of lining things up properly a bit easier.

Now as for the spacing I have heard that you will need a spacer to get the track right going to the second gen wheels (stock wheels that is) and I would imagin that you will have to add that to the 1" spacer you mentioned to make the FD wheels fit the FC.

If you do the FC subframe swap you will have all sorts of options for coilovers up front...

Fender flares are ideal as far as I am concerned.

the -se and the 4 lug 2nd gen are supposed to have the same offset.

you should be able to run the same spacer as needed for the 2nd gen. http://www.airbagit-store.com/product_list.asp?id=1377
that is going to be the easiest way to go on the rear. you can select what thickness you want.
i also plan on doing the 2nd gen subframe swap, luckily i found a set of wheels taht are drilled for 4x114.3 and 5x114.3.

ive thought about the FC subframe swap, but i think it might be out of my league. id love to do it along with a T2 engine instead of buying an FD in a few months like ive been planning, but i think id be in WAY over my head with that.

i think ill look around with getting the rear redrilled, cause id rather go that rought than spacers as long as the price wasnt outrageous and the workmanship was good.

the main thing im concerned with the rear is having to toy around with spacers to find one that makes the rear equal to the front. i think ill just get the rear drilled and then put the spacers and FD wheels on and see how it looks to decide where to go from there.

i know theres a right up on the FC subframe swap on here and i think ill try to read it again, cause when i did the first time i got lost. i remember it saying it could be done in one good gay, but time isnt really an issue for me. id just have to worry about mounting my current engine or going ahead with a T2
