About to re-seal tail lights, any tips from those who have done it?
I have searched and i have the lenses and housings separated and cleaned. I know the process, i just would like to know if anyone has any tips as in how much silicone to use...
All of the old glue and sealant has been scraped chipped and sanded off.
I also have black silicone that i plan to use to reseal the lights to the lenses.
There is a groove in the housing that the lenses mate up to. Do i just fill the groove up to the edges press together and clamp? Or is this too much silicone?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

if you're unsure, put em together with no glue, it'll give you some idea. you dont need a ton

i resealed mine about 4 months ago. i used a glue called goop. worked great and i have no leaks. also goop is clear so its easier to hide any glue mistakes
oh one more tip i would recomend to use a drill gun with a power ball to remove any dirt on ur lenses. i used meguiars PLASTX clear plastic cleaner & polish
and left my lenses like new
