? about part

On the fuel return hose, there is a metal connector that looks like a small fuel filter. Is this a fuel filter? If so, where do I get a replacement?

that is a check valve to keep fuel from flowing back to the carb on through the return line.

it ties into the flux capacitor. make sure its seeing 1.21 jigawatts
