Could he get them redrilled just to use them for auto-x? I assume he is asking because he came across a cheap set.
But isn't being hub centric important, so the forces go through the hub and not just the lugs?

if you are just looking for good used auto--x wheels that will require redrilling, look for old BBS wheels- these things are very strong and very light. Many 80's cars came with 14" BBS (BMWs, even some VWs) and later Miatas (the 92 Miata I had was shod with 14" BBS wheels -light as feathers).

I asked if they would work because I have them Laying around,They bolted right up to a'85 GSL-SE which is a 4 1/2 bolt pattern I figured I could Drill out the rims But I dont want to have a wheel fly off on me.I also have 14+7 Supra wheels(4 lug with sticky tires on em)&I have -2-13+5 American Racing Libres(fronts)&-2-13+7(rears)no tires.I figured 1 of these wheels has to fit.Worst case I will just use the UGLY wheels that are on it.

hub centric is mainly just for getting the wheel centered for tightening it down. After that the lugs do all the work. Most aftermarket rims come with an assortment of hubcentric rings to help center the rim on different cars, most the time they are plastic.
