86 6-port wiring

I am just curious. I am getting ready to experiment on the fuel injection on my car. Currently I am running the Racing beat Holley set up and I love it. BUt I am going to put the fuel injection on just to see how she runs and to pass emisions. Well I have everything I need... I have the complete engine harness out of an 86 and I have all of the components vacumm lines and everything. I am just curious.. Is all I need all the injector plugs and the MAF sensor plugs. Also the emisions plugs and the positive and the ground for the ECU. With a 5 amp fuse in there somewhere. Also I am going to run my distributor not the CAS. So I am set with my ignition. Just curious if all I have to do to get it running is by just using the plugs for the injectors and the MAF sensor. I have everything to make it work, it is just wiring it up. I have done two 86 swaps so I know the basics.. just need help with the wiring.

This is about the same problem I ran into when I could and still can get a 86 for $200. So let me get this straight, your running a all stock 86 engine except for using a dizzy correct? Where in PA do you live?

Well I am running an all stock 86 motor yes. But right now it has a carb on it. The holley 600 and it runs awesome.. I will never get rid of the carb b/c of the performance and tunability. BUt I need the fuel injection to pass emissions. I am using an 85 dizzy with a second gen direct fire leading coil. I have header, 2 1/2 exhaust. removed fan. The fuel injection because obviously there is no where to plug the smog pump lines anywhere or anything else for that matter. And I am doing this b/c probably I am going to do a second gen turbo setup N/A on another first gen with a 6-port in it. BUt that is down the road. I just want to get the FI working.

Oh cool. You know one thing I wanted to do with that 86 that I could get is go carb on it, but I couldnt figure out what to do for ignition being they say the coils are no good anyway. But I am planning on doing the DFLI or whatever you say... haha. Sayre is a small but big town way up north, sourounded by other smaller towns making it seem big.

I see. It is really easy to go carb. If you buy the second gen, you need to get a carb fuel pump.. like a carter street/strip and a regulator. Fuel injection block off plate. Headers. And you can just get good coils from a junk yard for a second gen and you already have direct fire, because second gens came stock that way. It is a very nice power improvment, but if you are a stiff when it comes to gas, I wouldn't recommend it, you don't get near the mileage like you would with Fuel injection. But overall its easy and a good mod.
