85'se manual question.....
So if you've seen my posts trying to sell my car you'll know about the tranny...
Well I, being the stupid ignoramus that I am, decided to over look the fack that the thing was pukeing fluid. now Where the -F- is the fill hole on that tranny and can I do it without pulling the damned thing?(not that I care, but I would like to not have to get the thing rebuilt, considering that is what I would want to do if I had it out.
any who...get back to me asap PLEASE
Peace-ERIK-

The tranny fill plug is on the drivers side of the tranny. You can fill it by buying a suction gun and filling it from underneath, or a long hose and funnel and filling it from the top. Look in a Haynes manual and it will show you how. Very easy, just a little messy.

Tennis, anyone
You can also, from under the car, pull the plug, then from the insides remove the shifter handle, shifter boot,
setup a hose/ funnel combo and put the hose in the filler hole, then pour in fluid untill fluid starts to drip out the filler, then stop. I don't know how empty the transmission is, so fill untill fluid drips out. replace plug.
and good to go !

Wait!!
Before anyone attempts this, you should all know:
Cars after 79-80 have a remote shifter, so pouring the fluid down the shifter handle will result only in filling the shifter handle with fluid! so if your car is an 81-85, DON'T DO IT!
Fill it from the fill plug on the driver's side of the tranny.
The "tranny fluid IV" idea (mimmicing a hospital IV bag and tube) supposedly works really well. Just do what hanman said.
1. Undo the filler plug of the tranny (to make sure you can get fluid in there once you drain it!)
2. Undo the drain plug and drain the tranny of it's fluid, replace the drain plug.
3. Buy 2 quarts of Red Line MT-90, probably the best tranny fluid your Rx7's manual tranny can get!
4. get a hose (clear plastic hose works well), put one end in the tranny fill hole, and run the other end up into the engine compartment.
5. put a funnel in that end of the hose, and start pouring!
6. Put something under the tranny to catch any excess fluid that comes out when the tranny is full. The proper level of fluid is when it's just at the bottom of the filler hole, so filling it until it flows back out the hole is a good enough measurement.
7. Replace the filler plug, clean the mess, and go for a spin

edit:
Okay, my warning was for people like me who didn't read mark perez' post properly the first time!
He isn't suggesting filling from the shifter handle, he's suggesting the exact same procedure I am, except instead of running the tube into the engine bay (step 4), he runs it almost directly upwards, and it comes out beside the shifter, after taking the boot off if I understand it correctly. Interesting solution, but considering nobody eats, drinks or smokes in my car, I'd be hard-pressed to bring two bottles of messy tranny fluid into the car...
