85-SE is now alive.....smog less........

Well I did it........late christmas present

Just got my car back after having the tranny rebuilt......
Put a new RB Clutch and Flywheel........and rebuilt driveshaft with new u joints.....800.00 total......

RB header,presilencer and PP muffler......extra

Mazdaracing short shifter

And took out the smog pump and acv.......

Oh my gosh..................

I have to learn how to drive all over again.........

Clutch is tough........Tried to fly off the line to get on the freeway..........just spun and smoked...........scared the **** out of car next to me...........I have to find the right rpms to let out the clutch to get on it...........If I need to

The car is not loud at all.............the cats were totally clogged.........I was shocked at the noise level........I thought it would be really loud.........its not.......

I have to use the brakes now to slow down on the freeway.......I dont know if its the lightened flywheel or not having the smog.......but when I use to take my foot off the gas.......the car would just slow down fast.......not anymore......runs smooth........just wants to go faster........revs easy.........gets to the red line really fast........the short shifter is really fun.........click ...click........click.......

Got new belts,.........including the 25-7125........will put these on tomorrow.........Whinny belts at 4k

Just cant get over what a difference taking off the smog.......and a new clutch and alum flywheel can do.....
and a rebuilt tranny and new drive shaft....and short shifter.......

Thanks to R and R Rotary in Upland.......Steve and Ryan hooked me up........

They have lots of first gen parts and prices I could not find anywhere.......

Performance level is now at the awesome level.....for me.....

Now its time for the suspension.......

Zoom Zoom.........

This works for most bolt ons, but what happens when you get to BOOST or porting? How difficult do I want life to be? I suppose this is the payoff for some HP eh?

What exactly did you remove? Got pics? A nice writeup with pics would be great! Im sure just the smog stuff removed isnt giving you all the increase you feel but its a contributor. Way cool, I always love the feeling of doing something thats a noticeable increase.
