85 GSL-SE Intermittent Map / interior light trouble
Trying to figure this one out.
Have an 85 that the interior light circuit seems to be faulty. Cleaned the pin switches on both doors. Ran a new ground wire from the overhead light circuit to a clean ground. The interior dome light just won`t come on. Yes. I replaced the bulb and checked the voltage to it.
Have found that the Map light will make a low volume tone under the dash ( as if the key is left in the switch after turning the car off and exiting) when I try to use it lately. It won`t come on either. Is the door and Map light circuit connected to a module or something? If it is, where is the module located? I am beginning to think that if it is, that is my problem.

Never mind.
Found the trouble tonight. Oxidized ring lug on the wire connecting to the dome light assembly. It is the connection made by a wire and a rivet to the dome light assembly.
Cleaned it & re- soldered.
Working good now.

I am having the same problem, even soldered the same area. The connections broke when removing the bulb.
Are there any other suggestions? Running out of ideas and patience lol
