the old rotor and cap were not the problem
when i put the new stuff on i got the trailing and leading ignitor wires backward that hook into the bottom of the cap and it wouldnt run. so i put all of the old stuff back on then figured out the wires were backwards then it ran. I put all new stuff on and it ran the same.

Thanks!

Just a forum thanks....the Mound died on me last Wednesday...I had spark, fuel....I tried deflooding it 100 times and no start....frustrated I did some searching on the forum and found this thread...RXdoctor wrote something about the car not dieing unless the thermo sensor is unplugged....I went outside and checked it out, and it looked suspiciously loose....sure enough I plugged it in and she fired right up!

Right on guys!
