'85 GSL: Engine won't start, Not getting any fuel.
Like it says:
I had the engine idling for about 20 minutes a few days ago. It stalled out and wouldn't start up again.
So naturally, I checked the obvious:
Changed the Fuel filter.... still no start.
Put some gas in it.... Still no start.
Checked the pump, And it wasn't clicking when I turned the engine. So I replaced it with an extra off of my parts car that I knew worked.
Tried again, Still nothing.
Latest thing I did was check the main fuel line to the carb: Bone dry.
I'm completely stumped, I have no idea what to do, or check now.
Please, anyone who can (Or has had the same problem) throw me a bone.
Thx,
Chimera

Sounds like you removed the fuel line from the carb, turned the key on and saw no gas come out.
If this is correct I,d ...
Next remove the fuel hose from the fuel filter outlet and check to see if fuel flows from here when the key is on. If no fuel check at the filter inlet.
check to see if the fuel pump is getting any power. remove the electric terminal and with a test light or voltmeter see if it is getting 12 volts when the key is on. if no power maybe a fuse or electric connection problem.
If pump is getting power can you feel it working when the key is on.
Is there fuel at the pump inlet?
Is there a fuel check/cut valve on this model like on the earlier 7's?
Hope this helps

Check the sight glass in the float bowls, front and rear. Is there gas in the float bowls? When you say that you put gas in, do you mean down the primary barrels of the carb? or in the gas tank. If you put fuel down the barrels and the engine did not fire, I would look to make sure that you have spark.

No fuel
If your not getting power to the fuel pump check the fuel cut relay, its under the dash on the drivers side. On the GSL-SE its under the passenger side floor next to the ECM. I have the wiring diagrams and can email it to you if you need it.
Good Luck,

Not 100% sure, but I think if you lose the trailing ignition, the fuel pump will not work. Have you checked for trailing spark? It could be something as simple as a bad ignitor. One quick check is to swap leading and trailing ignitors and see if you get fuel.
