'85 GS, i think i found one of my main problems.
Well, i am back from a long winter, its been nice here for about a month now so ive been working on the old rex again.. I think i may have found one of the major problems... i have had problems with the fuel pump for some time now so i started thinking of ways to remedy it, and i thought of the old hot rod approach, run a switch on the 12v constant and run it directly to the pump..so i screwed a grounding wire down to the computer box in the storage bin and ran a wire from the radios iginition 12v to a 10A 120V toggle switch which should WELL handle the 20a 12v load to the fuel pump and afro wired it for the time being .... anybody see any problems with that? the fuel pump is actually pressurizing the system now, before when the factory wiring still partially worked it would only barely trickle a little gas out of the primary line and the return NEVER had anything in it... :/ i think that could be the reason i always had to choke the car and as soon as i took the choke off it would die, because it wasnt getting the right amount of gas ...anybody else think that makes sense? im just guessing :/
anyway this posts getting kinda long..i need to ask if anyone has a factory fuel pump power connector (car wiring harness side) that they'd like to sell.... i dont want to have to chop off the factory connector from either the pump or the car.
