trying to find the dash light dimmer switch cant seem to find it anywhere online is this something I mite need to go to a dealer for

Alternatively, try posting in the 1st gen parts forum (under the "For Sale" section), or keep looking on eBay -- they turn up from time to time. You can also try your favorite junkyard. I'm not even sure that Mazda makes that switch any more, but if they do, you know it's going to be mucho pricey.

 

Yeah you would most likely be able to find one at the yard

 

Anybody have the definitive wird on bypassing the dimmer switch. I got one from the junkyard and tried it in the the 85 GSL SE I just bought for my son. It did not work either!

I'm thinking of trying a potentiometer between the two red wires.

An old post said something about the possibility of plugging it into the wrong thig. I'm wondering if that is what I did.
