85 gslse, antenna broke, motor still works fine, got a new antenna mast from mazdatrix, problem is i've got the motor out yet don't know how to open it up to unwind the broken strap and feed in the new one, does anybody else have ideas?

 

I have my power antenna right here in front of me.

I had it apart and put it all back together once. I think to jsut remove the mast you unscrew the nut at the top of the mast (the bling chrome one). There are 2 small screws, one large screw, one small nut (dead center) and a larger nut on the lower right. Those will get you into the worm gear mechanism. I'm kind of at a loss as to where to go from there to get the antenna itself out. You may want to wait before acting on my tips.
