85 12a to 80 tranny question need answer

iam 99% sure iam buying a 12a off a member, but i have a question.

the motor is a rebuilt 12a from a 85 it has a center force clutch,my car is a 1980 sa can i just bolt it to my tranny or iam i going to run in to problems. iam getting a good deal on the cost of the motor. i know to use different flywheels ect i need the right counter weights which would drive the cost up of me putting the motor in my car.

i feel dumb asking and i know iam going to get flamed ect but id rather be safe then sorry.

wacky is correct, the 79-85 12A will bolt up to any 79-85 12A trans as well as the 84-85 13B trans.

sorry doc, i know i ask some dumb question but i wasnt fully sure. but as i say all the time id rather ask some thing dumb then make a dumb mistake.

i tried to search but was having trouble wording it cause iam not swapng out my tranny ect. swap one year 12a for another. i went to centerforce.com and they listed there setups for 1979 - 1982 and 1983 - 1985.

i then went to Mazdatrix and read there info on fly wheels ect and the different size fly wheels info made me question ect.

Wasn't a dumb question, just one that has been covered a lot.
The rule on thumb on flywheel/clutches is also mate it to the engine that you are putting in, not the transmission unless you are bolting up a TII transmission.

there the dirt cheap ones, lol. with the crappy blue led halo ring you only see at night with the bulbs off. i got them so i could just replace the bulb and so i could get brighter lights with out going hid. the bulbs say off road use only but there not to to bright. the reason i need brighter lights is for when i go to my buddys place in nh all dirt roads ive all most hit a bear last weekend.
