84se no aux. ports opening

Ok I have an 84 GSL-SE that the owner before me put a header on with no way to open the 5&6 ports so I am looking for suggestions my first idea to fix it would be to tap a line into the header to route some exhaust to the solenoids for pressure, but I would like not to put any un-necessary holes in the exhaust if I dont have to. The second thought I had was to just remove the 5&6 sleaves and run them open but I don't know how this will affect bottom end performance, start up, or driveability. Any feedback from people who have performed either of these mods would be appreciated

you will need to install a pressure tube from the exhaust to the port tube. the ports open from back pressure from the exhaust and are fully open above 5500rpm. why not install a presilencer after the header that is made for the SE specifically and it will have the tube and flange installed already. you can then use your original pressure tube.

when i did mine i hooked the 6 ports up to the factory air pump. add in a valve and you can adjust the opening point.

you can wire them open but it sucks
