84 gsl rear end swap

Im thinking about doing a gls rear end swap int o my 85 gs..i wouldnt normaly be doing this but my dad is about to sell his 84 for 1000 and its mint..just needs some tlc..anyways i want his rear end and disks, how long of a job is this

yea, if your just changing the rear end and not doing any other mods then just a few hours. I just finished redoing my entire suspension and braking system, the whole thing took 4 days, and that was to replace everything (except sway bars)

i havent done the swap, but ive ripped out 2 rear ends, and im about to put -se suspension on my car. to get it off, an impact does wonders. i pulled the -se rear off at a junkyard, in the rain, and of course all the water had to funnel under the car. its definately a PITA to break some of those bolts loose. just take off all the ladder bars, undo the brake line and e-brake cable, but a jack under it, and lower it down. im assuming it goes back just like that. dont forget to get the e-brake cable and master cylinder if you can. my car was converted to a gsl rear when i got it, but it still had the gs master cylinder. i worked fine, but i could tell a slight difference when i changed them.
