I've decided to bite a bullet after far too long and try to source another complete main harness for my GSL-SE instead of building myself one from scratch, I'd like to breath some life back into this thing so I can at least work out mechanical kinks while I build a harness on the side.

The big question being, would a S, GS or GSL main (body) harness be compatible for a GSL-SE that has quite literally...2 seats and a dashboard. I'm only looking for things that I believe are universal between all the models in 84-85, things like the exterior lights, gauges, wipers, starting/charging...and that's about it. MSD will handle the ignition and I have a carter that will be wired on its own. The bottom line of this car is bare bones street legal autocrosser.

I have my old rear harness and transmission harness, I don't need the Fuel Injection Harness and I cannot for the life of me remember if there were any seperate harnesses for things like the a/c and dash, and doors...

Any insight would be awesome, I'd like to put up a WTB ad here soon and being able to open up my options would be perfect.

 

they do not interchange, as the main harness behind the dash also connects to the SE's ecu. that main harness also incorporates the oil pressure sender and coolant sender wiring, whereas a typical 12A's would be integrated soley in the engine harness instead of the body harness.

the up side is that an SE main harness will connect perfectly to the rear wiring harness that is joined with the main harness under the driver's side storage bin.

 

I guess I should have specified, my mistake, I am running a Dellorto with pretty much everything that doesn't keep the car physically running or "street legal" removed. Water temperature and oil pressure will be handled with mechanical aftermarket gauges.

I guess to narrow it down, the only things I can think of right now that I will have to plug into that might be different between a 12A and 13B would be the Alternator, Starter and possibly transmission wiring...everything else that comes to mind is non "model specific" such as the lights, gauge cluster connectors, turn signal stalk, ignition switch, etc. or atleast I think.

I still have the remnants of my original -SE harness just...in a billion pieces.

 

the lighting should all be the same, the difference is going to be the EFI stuff.

the happy news is that the parts fish shows two harnesses, 12A and 13B.
