84-85 interior in 83?

I am sure this has been done or discussed, but have searched and not found what I am looking for. I have a 1983 GSL. I like the center dash and gauge surround from the 84-85. Mainly the round A/C dials, and center trim. I know this sounds vain, but that is just me.
So here it is. I have a 1984 Parts car with most of the interior. Will most if not all of the interior trim match up? This is a color thing, the parts car is black, which is what I want, and the car I have is the brown ext. with tan int. Can you replace the entire dash and center console out of the 84 into the 83? I know anything can be done with enough time, but I am thinking that aside from some wiring, the mounts should line up.

Thanks,
Travis

I've done it in my old '83 GSL. The dash will bolt up, but the shape of the instrument cluster changes with the '84-'85 and didn't fit for me, and the connections behind it were different too. If you are putting in after market gauges or are good with wiring, you could probably convert it to work. Also I remember the fan speed switch being a problem too.

Yes it will work, to switch either way among the S2 and S3. You will have to make a few modifications to match the Wiring Harness, but is not overly difficult provided that you have the wiring diagrams for both Vehicles S2 and S3. But, the 1984 console with new S3 shape was not manufactured in black. Which car is it that you desire to transfer the Dash in to?

I want to put the 84 dash into the 83. Maybe someone dyed it, maybe I am looking at it wrong. It is a base model 84, no sunroof, no lsd. But does have the larger front hub bearings so need to get on getting the -SE front brake stuff. But that is another search.

let me know how that turns out I have a 85 dash I've been tempted to put in my 82 but didn't know what all problems would arise.
