84/85 instrument cluster swap

I was wondering if a 84/84 instrument cluster can be swapped in a 79 or 80 . I want them reverse gauges. Can this be done??

Thanks, Gonzz

I second that, I really prefer the look of the fb guages, but at the yards I only see the speedo's going to 85. Did mazda make them above 85 cause I like my 130 speedo...

Well considering the size of the cluster is TOTALLY WRONG, and the wiring is WAY off... Id say NO NOT easily...

Now guys if you want the faster speedo, the 80 needs to find a 79 speedo and swap it, someone 82, you need one from a 83, if you have a 81-82... I seen 2 of 83 130 mph speedos today in pretty good shape...

I've never really taken a good long look at the cluster in the fb's. I didn't relize the size was different, but I figured the wiring was.

I have the 130 speedo in mine. I have a 79 btw.
My username has nothing to do with my car

The main thing I like about the FB clusters is the fact that the voltmeter works all time.
