83 smog failed, high CO?

Anyone know what may be causing me to fail with high CO? passing is below 1%, my 83 tested at 3% at the 2500rpm test. Oh on a califonia dyno test.

TIA

This was the 2nd time failing, the 1st time #'s looked like this.

-------------hc(max)--------co(max)---------no(max)
15mph----297(152)------2.27(1.05)------104(1191)
25mph----262(123)------2.23(0.85)------91(1021)

2nd time around I didn't get a print out, tech only pointed out CO being too high, 3.00 at 25mph. I changed sparkplugs, air filter, plug wires and fuel filter before the 2nd attempt.

thanks.

Not to restate the obvious, but did you make sure the cat was good and hot?
I failed 5 times in SF before figuring this out.

High C/o

Check To Make Sure The Air Exhaust Check Valve Is Not Allowing Exhasut To Come Back Into The Intake. Take It Off And Feel For Air, It Should Only Be Going Toward The Cat. Also Take It Into A Muffler Shop And Make Sure
The Cat Is Lighting Off, Means The Outlet Temp Should Ba Alot Higher Than The Inlet. 98% Of The Time I Have Put A New Cat On And Passed. Rx7doctor
