I'm planning on picking up an 83 RX-7 in a couple of days. I noticed when I test drove it there was no power steering. Is this common for that year? It was manageable even with the slightly over sized tires on it. But I'm just a little concerned since it was drove the last 12yrs by "the little old lady from Pasadena"

 

Common for the SA's but not the '81 -'85 RX-7s. That said, I just bought a 1984 RX-7 GS (I think) that has no power steering...

 

i know the 84 and 85 came with a power steering option, but i didn't know that it was also available on the 81-83's.

Okay, thanks for the info. My only experience with the rx-7 has been with the post here. I'm almost caught up with them. Gonna pick up my car this sunday, then maybe I won't be such a pest.
