83 gsl?
I have an 83 GSL (maybe) but I keep reading about standard rear disk brakes and standard LSD. I have drums on the back, but I don't know if about the diff. Are there exterior identifying characteristics that would tell me if its LSD?
Do I even have a GSL? If not, anybody want to buy the two little gsl plates on the pillar?

It is possible that someone replaced the rearend with a drum setup because of a broken axle or diff. I have a 83 gsl also and broke an axle and it was difficult to find a replacement part from a salvage yard. It took me about a month and even then it wasn't me but a friend that knew I was looking and procured them for me. The 83's have a wheel bearing that is smaller than the other years.

man i don' know. I am the third owner, #2 rebuilt the engine (at a mazda dealership) and didn't replace any drive train so now I got a half cooked clutch and tranny. I'll drive it til they fall out and then replace them. As for the dif and drums, you tell me. Its an rx so anything is possible. I don' think that #1 would have gone out of his way to do proper repairs if he didn' hafta. The perfect rx will be forever in the making, but it ain't the destination...
